ABOUT ALAN LAWRENCE
Alan Lawrence Bio:
Photography is my looking glass into the world. Through the lens, I attempt to draw out life’s splendors from the apparent disorder. I believe my photographs are most successful when they reveal the subtle contexts hidden within the greater picture. When you look at my images, I want you to see something new, or perhaps see things as you’ve never seen them before. My goal is to create music for your eyes, images for people who see.
For the past few years, I have immersed myself in photography and the excitement of captured images. Photography has changed the way I see the world. The sky is no longer just the sky; it is an ever-changing canvas of colors, hues and beauty. The mundane has been transformed into lines, shapes and space. As I continue to grow as a photographer, my view of the macrocosm around me evolves.
Music is my other passion. I am the owner of JAZZLOFT.COM, an online record store specializing in jazz, avant-garde and modern classical music. As a photographer, I have been commissioned for weddings, events and magazine shoots.
I am currently teaching Photography and Post-Production Classes in the Continuing Education Department of Bellevue College, Bellevue, Washington, Photographic Center Northwest and Cascadia Community College Continuing Education, Bothell, WA. As founder of the Seattle Photography Club, I organize open photography outings and teach private and group workshops. I am also available for private and corporate events, as well as engagement and wedding photos.
