Professional Wedding Photography | Beckstead Workshop Summary
With his use of LED lighting, cheese graters, and different angles during this Professional Wedding Photography Workshop, David Beckstead teaches how to create visually appealing and unique images no matter what time of day. Starting in the studio, Beckstead teaches how to shoot using LED flashlights and incorporating tools such as a knitting kit from your local Walmart. Finding everyday items to shoot with is Beckstead’s specialty, as he uses them to create images with dramatic shadows and patterns. In order to create a unique look, Beckstead uses a LED flashlight as his only light source when shooting in a studio.
However, when he is shooting outside, Beckstead enjoys working with the sun, no matter what time of day. In his Professional Wedding Photography Workshop. Beckstead teaches how to compose the perfect shot and works with shadows and direct sunlight, usually considered photographer no-no’s, and created jaw dropping images in locations just around the corner. At his workshop, Beckstead shows how to shoot at midday and still get beautiful images, even in the harsh light. With the correct placement of the model, the framing of the shot turns out to include the use of different shadows and patterns all while flattering the model.
Beckstead travels all over the world with his workshops. Working in places such as China and Italy, Beckstead has gained a cultural experience shooting around the world. He recently hosted his workshop in the Photoplex in Atlanta, a great studio to rent for photographers who are interested in shooting a studio.
