INSPIRATIONAL PHOTO OF THE DAY
Notes by the Photographer: While touring Stockholm on a summer day I was struck by the people leisurely hanging out in Karlaplan, just soaking up the sun and the sounds of the water from the fountain. The scene reminded me of some of the pictures I had seen from the early photography masters of the 20th century. The image was originally processed in Lightroom as a color photo; I then took it into Photoshop and converted it to Black and White. This is the point when I really thought the photo achieved its potential. I know this photo is not to everyone’s taste but for me it is a modern recreation of some of the old black and white masterpieces. The photo is of the fountain in the Karlaplan Plaza in the Ostermalm section of Stockholm on Aug 17, 2017.
Settings: Sony A7R II, Sigma 24-105 DG OS HSM F4 lens (Canon mount adapted) @ 105mm, f/9, ISO640, 1/1000sec.
