FEC Editor’s Notes: If you’re wondering whether or not this image has been Photoshopped, the answer is no. Flip Chalfant captured this image using slide film in Yellowstone National Park. Your eyes are drawn immediately to the river carving it’s way through the snow because of the perfect framing of the trees. There are a lot of challenges that can arise when shooting in low temperatures, so Flip had a ‘what if’ survival kit on the back of his snow mobile.
