David Lloyd is a photographer of wildlife from New Zealand living in London. He arrived in late 1989 for a six month journey and is still here journeying over twenty years later. Some of his favorite places are Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Botswana, and Richmond Park which is just a few miles from his home in London.

David prefers a fine art style, choosing to appeal to buyers of framed photography. Although he has a preference towards black and white, color features strongly too.

He has acquired each portfolio of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year series since its inception in 1991. They have been and they continue to be, his biggest inspiration. In 2011 it was truly a privilege to see his picture A Flick Of The Tail chosen for its cover. His pictures have been published worldwide and his prints adorn the walls of many peoples’ homes. David has been named Certified Professional Photographer, CPP by the Professional Photographers of America and has also published “Creative OCF Lighting Techniques for Photographers.” His photographic creativity shows itself not only behind the camera, but also inside of it. David is an inventor with a granted US patent for electronic flash, assigned to the Vivitar Corp. 1985, an inventor of new lighting techniques and lighting accessories (includes a Portable Lighting Kit and most recently, a Profoto OCF Lighting Adapter for Speed Lights), and was also issued a U.S. Patent for his original “Portable Modular Flash System.”  David has now recently fully documented and explained, with sample photos, lighting diagrams, setup pull-back photos and descriptive how to’s, in his new Coffee Table Lighting Book, ” Creative OCF Techniques for Photographers.”

Due to the joy he experienced from others viewing his picture, David Lloyd took an interest to teaching photography so that others could experience that joy.
